1. Fairtrade Formal & World Fair Trade Day
Fairtrade formal - CHANGE OF DATE: Unfortunately we've had to postpone our
fairtrade formal as we can't have it on the 10th. We're still negotiating a
date, so WATCH THIS SPACE to find out when it'll be. Or join the facebook
group at http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=15413531441 for updates.
For now, let me take the opportunity to encourage you all to do something
else to celebrate World Fair Trade day on the 10th - why not treat yourself
to a guilt-free glass of fairtrade wine and bar of chocolate :)

2. Student Community Action: Chocolate Draw
Buy chocolate bars and get entered into the SCA prize draw! You could win a
double ticket to the Jesus May Ball, a double ticket to the Pembroke June
Event, two tickets for Jazz@Johns, a bottle of Southern Comfort, Cava or
CUP books.
It's £1 per entry and all the money raised will go to help continue SCA's
work in the community. You can buy the chocolate bars from the SCA office
(right next door at 10 Pembroke Street) - the draw will take place on
Tuesday 3rd June at 2pm so all entries should be in by 1pm. Email Juliet
(jcp50) for more details.

3. Summer School at Girton & New Hall: Summer Job
The Job: Supervisor of 14-19yr old international students
The Location: Girton College and/or New Hall Colleges
The Pay: £200-£300 per week (depending on position and experience)
The Free Stuff: Free Accommodation at Girton or New Hall; Free
Breakfast; Free Dinner.
The Dates: a choice, either 13th July to 3rd August and/or 5th August -
18th August 2008
The Perks: Weekend excursions to London, Stonehenge, Stratford & Bath
The Ideal Applicant would have: Experience of working with teenagers;
good knowledge of Cambridge; an outgoing, hard-working and reliable
personality; the ability to organise fun, inclusive and educational
activities around Girton and Cambridge; First Aid qualification (or
lifeguarding) an advantage.
WE ARE ALSO LOOKING FOR QUALIFIED TEFL TEACHERS.

4. Teaching and Travelling in Hong Kong and Asia 2008
This summer we are organising a summer English course in one of the most
exciting cities in the world, Hong Kong. We are looking for enthusiastic
and motivated individuals (native English speakers ONLY) to take part in
this course as English tutors for a month. The package includes the
following: - FREE two-month return ticket (London to HK)
You will be spending a month in HK (14/07/08-08/08/08) teaching for a
maximum
of 6 hours a day (9am-4pm) and the other month (or however long you
prefer to
travel after the course in HK) you are free to travel around in China or
anywhere else you prefer.
- Free accommodation in Hong Kong during the course
- Free Chinese lessons (Optional)
- £150 pocket money for the trip
This really is a fantastic opportunity for those of you who are keen on
teaching or travelling. Especially with the 2008 Olympics being held in
Beijing this summer, it should be an absolute fun and unique experience!
