In addition to the events advertised in the Newsletter, Emma Kerr
(efmk2) would like people to be aware of:
STUDENTS SUPPORTING STREET KIDS - CHRISTMAS CARDS AND COLLEGE BILL
Your JPC Charity of the Year is once again asking you to feel the
Christmas spirit and dip into your pocket over the Christmas season to
help street children across the world. We'll be selling packs of
Christmas cards in the bar and at cough, with beautiful designs created
by Pembroke Arts and Photograhy society artists, including a charcoal of
Pembroke looking frosty in the snow and St John's bridge. The cards will
be sold at bargainous student prices, with proceeds going to street
children in India and South America. Get some for the grandparents or
your friends by paying a visit to the JP or emailing Emma Kerr on
efmk2@cam.ac.uk.
We will also be inviting you to add £5 to your college bill, all of
which will go directly to support our projects. Next week you will
receive a leaflet in your pidge - if you're feeling generous and would
like to help out, please return the forms to Luke Tamkin's pigeon-hole.

President of Fundraising
Students Supporting Street Kids
By raising awareness and funds in UK universities, SSSK hopes to advance
the arrival of a time when the phrase 'street kids' will be redundant.
Many students have now witnessed these situations first hand, perhaps
while abroad during a gap year, but have left with the feeling that
there isn't much they can do. SSSK aims to resolve this feeling of
paralysis. Because funds are raised by student volunteers, all the money
raised through events and collections goes straight to the people who
know what to do with it - those who live and work with street children
in developing countries. As a small, fledgling charity run entirely by
volunteers, SSSK avoids losing money in administrative hassle. We
currently have projects in India, Ecuador and Colombia.
