1. STUDENT FOCUS GROUP ON DISABILTY

There is going to be a student focus group on Disability in Cambridge
and is a great chance for students to get their views aired and their
voices heard in a friendly environment. The session should last a max.
of 2 hours and will include a free lunch. It is being held at Robinson
College, which is completely accessible. It would be great to get as
many students there as possible. It's a rare opportunity for students
to
be involved in what the university is doing on the ground and I advise
anybody with any views or general interest to attend.

It will be on Tuesday 20th November from 10:30am- 12:30pm
Venue: Linnett Room, Robinson College

It includes a FREE LUNCH (to appeal to the student inside you). Please
note that it is open to all students. If you are interested, please
email Andrea at welfare@cusu.cam.ac.uk

2. TIMEOUT ART GROUP

TIMEOUT is a free, drop-in art group for all students of the
university.
It is held in the art room at Kettle's Yard, Castle Hill, Cambridge,
(Castle Hill is straight across the traffic lights, up from Magdalene
College) every Thursday in term time from 1.30-3.30pm. There is no need
to sign up for it.

The art room is a light airy space where people can use the wide range
of art materials provided, in any way they wish, from making a mess to
creating a more structured art work.

The essence of the sessions is one of informality, non-competitiveness
and fun; time out from the pressures and stresses of university life.

It is facilitated by Carol Davies, an art therapist at the University
Counselling Service.

3. ESLT - TEACHING ENGLISH ABROAD

English Language Studies for Tibetans are looking for volunteer
teachers
for summer 2008 to teach in India, Mongolia and Nepal.

You will spend six weeks as a voluntary teacher in a Tibetan exile
community. ELST offer a grant of £300, and most volunteers raise
substantially more than this through university funding. This will be
to
a range of ages and abilities, and could be in monasteries, schools or
community centres. - You will predominately teaching English, but most
volunteers find themselves involved in a range of activities such as
teaching science, sports or running CV workshops. Whilst ELST provides
logistical support to its volunteers, you still have the freedom to
organise exactly what you want to do, and indeed you will be expected
to
be responsible for the planning and undertaking of your placement.
Applications should be sent to elstvolunteering@googlemail.com by
midnight 31st December 2007. Visit www.elstcam.org for more information
and to read the experiences of past volunteers.

Please feel free to email with any more questions.

the Venezuelan Amazon; Travelling and volunteering in South America

papers, essays and articles on topics in the field of economic

The CU Pakistan Society, in conjunction with ARU Islamic Society, is
organising a One Day National Fast on Monday 26th November. Come down

were established.

We encourage everyone to fast from sunrise to sunset (No food, No

not to help!
