3. Football Players wanted

Pembroke is facing off against the English World Cup Writers' Team (
http://writersteam.co.uk/players/) in a game of football, and we need 11
strapping young lads to lead us to victory! These are some serious writers,
including Marcus Du Sautoy and David Goldie who hail from the Other Place
(hint, begins with an OX), who are also serious about football.

Place: Pembroke Sports Grounds
Date: November 21 in the morning.
Time: TBA

Afterwards, all members of the football squad are invited for Hall to dine
with the opposition (you'll have to swipe in, not a freebie I'm afraid!)

Contact dg336@cam.ac.uk if you are interested in participating.

the competition is Friday 30th October, but entries will still be accepted
and displayed during our four week exhibition at three different venues
around Cambridge.

5. Monitor Group: international strategy consultancy - drop in

4th November from 7pm, Pitt Building, Trumpington Street

Monitor is a leading global strategy consulting firm and was founded in
1983 by a group of Harvard Business School professors who wanted to test
their theories in the real world. This blend of academic inquiry,
entrepreneurial spirit, and commercial ambition has remained at
Monitor's core as it has grown into a world-class strategy company.

We work with organisations to help them grow. For corporations, that
often means developing strategies for revenue growth. For governments,
it means working on national economic development. For non-profits, it
means helping to grow their social impact.

To find out more please come along to our Drop-in session with drinks
and nibbles on Wednesday 4th November at 7pm. There will be an
opportunity to chat with current consultants and hear about what it is
like to work at Monitor as well as the opportunities that we can offer
you. There will also be a short presentation at around 7:30pm.
