Important notice for third year language students
If you would like to stop receiving this newsletter during your year
abroad, please email jp-it@pem.cam.ac.uk with 'remove' as the subject.

A brief guide to writing Newsletter entries
Make your first line short, informative and punchy - I copy this into
the contents. Keep it brief - people don't have time to read lengthy
descriptions, and I tend to put longer entries lower down so the shorter
entries don't get swamped. Make your contact details obvious. When you
email me, put 'newsletter' in the subject line. And finally, don't miss
the deadline - midday on Sundays. LB

Gown for sale
I am just starting my MPhil year and have a Pembroke undergraduate gown
to sell on second hand to a fresher who is interested, for about £25; I
will put a notice up in the plodge in freshers' week, and Nicola Jacobs
suggested that it might also be possible to advertise it in the JP
mailing list? That would be fantastic if so. Could you say something
like: "undergrad gown for sale, second-hand, good condition, about £25,
contact Joanna on jrm78@cam.ac.uk if interested"?

happening and even find the locations on a map as well as learn more about
all of Cambridge's societies!
Make sure that you are not missing out; go to www.MyPidge.com.

Cambridge University American Stage Tour 2007
'The Winter's Tale' by William Shakespeare
'The Winter's Tale' is one of Shakespeare's most enchanting and moving
plays. This tragic tale of jealousy and redemption, set within a vibrant
but dangerous wonderland, flies to the East coast of America this
September after previewing in Sidney Sussex College.
Paranoid King Leontes sends the Princess away to the Bohemian pastoral,
erasing the terrible truth of his error. Here a mad hatter discovers the
babe Perdita and raises her as his own. She soon becomes the belle of
Bohemia, loved by Florizel and adored by the bumpkins. But when events
conspire to bring together Leontes' stagnant court with this curious
world, boundaries blur and statues become queens as the landscape is
transformed.
Cambridge University American Stage Tour delights in presenting a stage
filled with the antics of rogues and sheep shearing princesses, tinted
by the magical universe of Lewis Carrol's 'Alice in Wonderland'.
Exit, pursued by a teddy bear.
