The JPC meets approximately weekly to discharge its business, discuss important student issues, and make minor decisions (major decisions are made at Open Meetings at which the JP is consulted). Forthcoming events are also planned and policies discussed at JPC meetings.
The JPC must meet at least six times in the Michaelmas and Lent terms, and four times in the Easter term, and in any case not less than once a fortnight. There must be seven JPC members present (out of eleven) for business to be conducted. Any member of the JPC who misses three meetings during his or her term of office, without his or her apologies being accepted, is deemed to have resigned.
Minutes are taken at all JPC meetings, which are read and confirmed at the next meeting. A copy of the confirmed minutes is then posted as soon as possible on the JP notice board (just outside the entrance to the JP) and this website before the next meeting.
